ORTHODOX TEA

In Orthodox Tea we produce mainly three varieties, which are;

This tea is very light in cup having light yellowish color with a very delicate flavor. This tea is produced during the months of March, April and May. The Tea produced during this season is mostly enjoyed without milk.

Second Flush – Orthodox

The Tea is produced during the Summer months, from early June to the end of August. It has got a full Cup (i.e. Full bodied color, which is dark brown), and has a strong flavor with a slight briskness. A tea which is mostly preferred with some drops of milk.

Autumn Flush – Orthodox

Autumn Flush is the tea produced in-between the months of  Mid September  till Mid November. The tea has a prominent winter aroma and has an orang’ish color in cup.

In Orthodox we produce the following Grades:

  • Leaf – known as SFTGFOP 1,

  • Broken – known as TGBOP 1

  • Fanning – known as TGOF.

   GREEN TEA

We generally produce Green Tea during the Summer Months (i.e. Mid May, June, July and August). The process of making this tea is totally different from the manufacturing of Orthodox tea, as this tea has no fermentation process.

The cup is light greenish in color and thin in cup, which should be taken without milk and sugar.

In Green Tea we produce the following Grades:

  • Leaf – SFTGFOP 1, and

  • Fanning- TGOF.

OOLONG TEA

Oolong tea is made out of the finest tea leaves. Oolong tea is a semi fermented tea, flowery in look. The tea when brewed has a light yellow color, a very smooth and mellow cup with a delicate flavor. Due to its processing technique, an oolong tea can be brewed for 3-4 consecutive cups, and its other than the 1st cup that actually brings out the character of the tea.

White Tea

One of the finest tea, as the tea is made out of One leaf and a bud or Two leaves and a bud (but the leaves have to be small). The uniqueness of this tea is that it does not go through any fermentation process. Delicately plucked to see that no damage comes to the tea leaves, the leaves are dried so that they can be preserved and served directly, hence the extremely light cup and fresh aroma that fills the cup. A tea has the highest level of Polyphenols, it has the highest level of Anti oxidants, a prize for people concerned with the health benefits. A very good drink for the heart.
